Jura stacked in the grass

Juray finished his CD in Wisconsin!

Jura finished his Rally Advanced (RA) title on Feb 27-28 at the International Kennel Club of Chicago.

FLASH!! Jura finished his AKC Championship in Santa Rosa, CA on August 20, 2009! He has become the fourth AKC Champion Imported Springer in the history of the breed.

Ginger and Jura would like to thank the following judges who saw beyond the spots and pointed at Jura:

  • Ms. Marjorie Martorella
  • Miss Dorothy MacDonald
  • Gloria Geringer (3 minor points plus Major #1)
  • Miss Virginia Lyne
  • Mr. Stephen J. Hubbell
  • Mrs. Paula Nykiel
  • Dr. Tiina Illukka
  • Mrs. Patricia Trotter
  • Mr. Robert Jackson (Major #2)

Ginger would also like to thank Santiago Pinto for handling Jura to nine of his minor points. The rest of his points and both majors were owner-handled.

Jura has the quintessential English Springer Spaniel temperament. Kind, accommodating, outgoing, happy. He is friendly, gentle, and appropriate with all dogs, from puppies to other intact males. He has never met an enemy or stranger and greets children with the same delight as adults, tail wagging furiously, eager to play fetch with whatever his current favorite toy of the moment is. He has a natural unending desire to retrieve and a soft mouth.

Conformation

Jura represents what the English Springer Spaniel should be. He has heavy bone and tremendous substance. A stunning spaniel head with proper planes and large, correctly placed teeth in a proper bite. Jura has superb front structure with an upper arm of proper length set into a well-laid back shoulder. He has a deep chest with plenty of lung room for great endurance. His rear is correct, with a good turn of stifle but without the overangulation too often seen in current show dogs. This leads to a beautiful free single track gait with tremendous reach and drive.

Breeding Policy

Jura is available at stud on a limited basis to select bitches. Strong preference will be given to bitches with good energy and drive, working titles in a variety of sports, and the friendly, eager to please, quick to learn, and willing to obey temperament that defines the breed. Complete genetic health screening as well as good conformational structure are also required. If you have a bitch you would like to have considered for Jura, please contact Ginger Huxley.
